Here's Another Benefit of Obamacare:

I'm on Medicare, and just got my notice about the fees for my Platinum Blue supplemental policy from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. In 2012, the premium was $119/mo. In 2013, that goes DOWN to $109/mo. Doesn't seem like much, but it's $120/yr. less. That's almost the exact street maintenance assessment for my house for the year. Yay! Nothing else changed of any significance, except that they added a $125/yr. allowance for eyeglasses, even if not covered by Medicare. Nice.

I attribute the decrease to Obamacare. Thanks, Mr. President!

preventive care exams without any co-pay kicked in early on, just as I was going on Medicare. I had a complete physical shortly thereafter, complete with electrocardiogram to get a baseline and a complete blood panel. I have another physical and blood panel each year, now, with no co-pay. The same provision applies to everyone with private health insurance now. It's a great thing, and lets people get the exams and tests they need to find out if they have any conditions that need treatment. Often, people put those tests off. The blood panel lab tests are very expensive, if you have to pay for them yourself. Now, they're covered.
