OH BOY THIS IS IT! Mitt Romney's Bain Capital outsourcing Illinois jobs in Freeport to China

Examiner has picked this up now...

http://www.examiner.com/article/mitt-romney-s-bain-capital-outsourcing-illinois-jobs-freeport-to-china

The company that Mitt Romney founded, Bain Capital, took control of Sensata Technologies in 2006. Bain Capital announced earlier this year that it would close the plant in Freeport, Illinois and layoff 165 workers there.

This case is a concrete example of the culture that has developed at Bain Capital of shipping American jobs to China. This culture developed at Bain Capital dates back to the founding by Mitt Romney and the chasing of the all mighty dollar over people. These jobs are not only American jobs, but for resident of Illinois, these are local jobs lost to China if Bain Capital has its way.

However, some employees of the company, Sensata Technologies, have generated national publicity through what they call a longshot plea to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to keep the plant open.

...

This is an issue that will not go away anytime soon. Might even come up in the debate on Tuesday.

Love the last line there! I was wondering if this story would get any traction. Now I believe it is.

Get our "message" out, take the "high" road, etc. Meanwhile the GOP spends millions on negative ads and misinformation.

No, all of Romney's baggage needs to be exposed, and the beauty is we don't even have to lie about it, just make it known.

Your post with the linked news story is encouraging.

Finallly. Maybe. Let's hope.

These workers and their families are inspiring.

...make damn sure there isn't some concrete action HE (Obama) could take
to assist these workers. Visit them on the campaign trail, bring national
attention to what's happening there using his bully pulpit, and for damn sure
if Obama has ANY pension funds or other investments that are within 10
miles of Sensata, DIVEST. You get the idea: show solidarity with these
workers, but make sure you're covering your hind end too.

I think Sensata is a powerful opportunity, but it could backfire if not done
well; since we can be sure Rmoney/GOP have already prepared their
response if Obama brings attention to it
.

That is, specifically, close the tax loop holes that exist that allow companies to profit from shipping jobs overseas.

Furthermore, there has been speculation that Bain violated visa laws if they trained the Chinese workers to specifically replace their American counterparts.

that posted something I saw yesterday on DU.

But it implied that Obama has pension funds that are somehow
connected to the Sensata story. Don't know if it's true or not,
but that was not even my main point. Main point is:

Team Obama must KNOW by now that these habitual liars are often
quite good at having "a come-back" already prepared if they get
caught in their lie.

Obama Has NO Investment in #Sensata. He was State Senator & Had State Retirement Plan from 1997-2004 w/ Shares, BEFORE Bain Bought it.

Glad you're here! I was watching it myself! Glad it's starting to move the meter a little. But we've gotta push it WAY OUT THERE past Martin Bashir. I LOVE Martin Bashir! I love his show! So I'm delighted he's picking up on this. Hopefully it'll go WAY farther than that.
