Santa Claus on Presidential ballot in 15 states

Last edited Mon Oct 15, 2012, 04:54 PM - Edit history (1)

"Mr. Claus is an official write-in candidate on 15 state presidential ballots on Nov. 6, including in Maryland. State workers on state time confirmed that Mr. Claus, of Nevada, was real.

“He did come into the office and file the paperwork, but we did check with the courts of Nevada — he had legally changed his name,” Donna Duncan, director of the state’s Elections Management division, told the paper.

His name will be listed at polling places, but not on the ballot. You have to type it in, should his political agenda and presents platform strike you as inspiring.

A brief bio: Mr. Claus was born Thomas Patrick O’Connor. He is a former New York City police official. He is single. He is 65. He has a long white beard. He is unaffiliated with any political parties, and he intends, should he win, to continue working to make children happy every Dec. 25. "

Because of his law and order demeanor (he knows who has been naughty and who has been nice, after all) he'll resonate with the party moderates and in a more general sense, but his anti-capitalist giving away of gifts to people with little regard for socioeconomic status is likely to turn off the Randians.

The winner could then debate thirsty Paul Ryan. I think Allen West would make a good moderator.
