I got so pissed when the signs were stolen from our vineyard fencing that I threw some Habaneros, a bit of olive oil and some water into a food processor.

I then re-hung the signs a sprayed them with the concoction.

Apply to the metal "legs" just up underneath the sign itself. That's where the creeps grab it to pull it out of the ground.

It's a dry gray powder that turns bright purple when you get it on your skin, and it will not come off. If the perps are people you know, you'll be able to tell it was them by their purple fingers.

Put it around the edges and legs of sign (use gloves or disposable paintbrush). Also perhaps skunk essence or deer urine? Pepper spray booby trap? Suggestion above of dog shit on ground surrounding sign is a good one too.

My husband and I just came in from stapling Obama signs to our trees that line the main road. We took a ladder and placed the signs high enough that no one will reach them.

I am pissed. They had to come 15' onto our property to rip off the larger yard sign.

The nearest Obama office is 40 miles away, but I'm going down there and get some larger signs to nail onto the trees.

True story, this happened in Pinellas County Florida so much in the 1980s and 1990s that one of the former heads of the Pinellas County DEC lost his mind and decided to retaliate.

Of course, he was the one who got caught stealing signs.
