They had to wait four years for this one... And Rmoney can't sidestep it, either. Candy just got him! LOL!

These days they're a right wing lobbying organization nothing more. Once upon a time they were about teaching marksmanship and gun safety. Not so much these days.

It used to be about preservation of wilderness areas to promote healthy herds so deer would be there for future generations.

It was an environmental organization. They were at the forefront on the issue of acid rain.

"in my state the pro-gun and anti-gun people came together." but Romney wouldn't go on record as supporting it now

(because the NRA endorsed him (said Obama)

-----------

Obama said "Assault weapons don't belong on our streets."

"and make sure the mentally disturbed don't get weapons"....THANK YOU Mr President!!!

Extremely small percentage of crime committed with so-called "assault weapons." It's an emotional issue for people ignorant of crime, root causes of crime, and firearms in general.

So we need AK47's to guard our beloved stuff? Most people can't safely operate them.

They are no more powerful than hunting guns (actually, most are of a *less* powerful caliber than hunting guns.)

When DU goes out of defcon mode, check this image and tell me why the same gun, with a different stock "can't be safely operated"

12. You must mean these "hunting guns":

"There's long range shooting. then there's ultra long range shooting.
We build precision rifles for the marksman who knows the difference.
He's the hunter with the cross hairs of his .416 on a trophy bull in the
next zip code and the benchrest shooter with sights of his .50 BMG
on a 1,000 yard 10-ring. He's the SWAT tactical shooter no bad guy dares
challenge and the military sniper eliminating threats from a half-mile out."

Sorry there's a crossover in many minds...
