Grumman closed shop long ago.

There is no freight rail to Long Island.

Strange to talk so much about manufacturing to a bunch of Long Islanders.

It just isn't possible to compete with a workforce that is paid less than a dollar an hour.

3. Its more logistics -- materials have to be trucked in and products trucked out through New York City

So the remaining manufacturing is light manufacturing for the New York market or high tech like Teledyne LeCroy.
