The stinging shot Obama aimed at Romney that no one is talking about

Last edited Thu Oct 18, 2012, 11:01 AM - Edit history (1)

My favorite question from the audience was a woman who inquired of Romney could he assure her that if elected he would be different from George W. Bush*. Romney made some mealy-mouthed response, but Obama landed a punch on Romney's chin.

(Paraphrasing) There are differences between Mr. Romney and George W. Bush. Bush did not want to voucherize Medicare, he was better on immigration reform, and Bush never proposed defunding Planned Parenthood.

I consider Obama's response a true verbal assault on Romney, because in my opinion, there is nothing worse than being compared to George W. Bush* and pale in that comparison. What a heck of an insult, but executed so beautifully.

I absolutely loved it.

which increased the deficit, gave a windfall to big pharma and the donut hole to the elderly who can't afford it. little boots and his band of merry, corrupt con artists attempted to privatize SS, so WS could even scam more of our money.

however, at this point economically, if robme is elected he'll attempt to privatize the shite out of the government for his corrupt, sociopathic friends; i mean after all, government doesn't create jobs. i'd say, robme is little boots II, with randian ryan, and would probably turn the country into a corporate feudalistic state.

But the last point I want to make is this. You know, there are some things where Governor Romney’s different from George Bush. George Bush didn’t propose turning Medicare into a voucher. George Bush embraced comprehensive immigration reform. He didn’t call for self-deportation. George Bush never suggested that we eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood.

So there are differences between Governor Romney and George Bush, but they’re not on economic policy. In some ways, he’s gone to a more extreme place when it comes to social policy, and I think that’s a mistake. That’s not how we’re going to move our economy forward.

Look at the tape at the end when Willard is pretending to make nice with the 100%. The woman who asked that question got all smoochieface with Ann. They obviously know each other.

I think she was a ringer intended to give Willard a foil for killing the meme a out going back to the policies that got us in this mess. Problem is they forgot Willard is an even worse dud than whistleass.
