Even if he tries to come off as a nice guy next time, the country saw the asshole side of him. He'll be perceived as an asshole who's trying to act nice. Everyone will be waiting for the asshole to appear at any time.
He's toast.

(23,278 posts)actually, we are referring to him as the petulant spoiled child who pouted and stomped his feet when he didn't get his way....it will be the standard response by this afternoon.

(17,301 posts)In the first debate Romney wanted to fire Big Bird in this last debate Romney was happy that 5 birds in the Northern XL pipeline had died.
Why does he hate birds soooo much? What have birds ever done to him?
Can't he win at Angry Birds?

(37,364 posts)has been trying to inflate in advance of the next debate. All of this crap over the past week or so about congressional investigations of the Libya event actually had more than one hole punched in it last night with the President clarifying responsibility for security and by taking Romney to task for inaccuracy about whether it was terrorism or not. The single most powerful moment of the debate was when the President schooled Romney on the notion that it is never appropriate to make political hay out of an unfolding crisis. Romney's foreign policy balloons were all lead in that debate and none of them will float given that he relies on neocons for advice.

(17,651 posts)Highlights on the Chinese pension comment Romney made to Obama that M$M neglected to mention was off topic and bizarre.
Lilly Ledbeter is not an equal work equal pay bill - LyinRyan this morning.
Romney's talking point paragraph talking about Obama's past 4 years of failed economic policies.
There's more but everyone should be smashing their lame spin same way Obama smashed Romney in that debate!!

Down here in Texas I'm seeing a lot of signs that say "vote republican" and "vote pro-life" - they are encouraging folks to vote for party rather than person because they know he's not particularly likable.
