(135,425 posts)Of course, that was probably just interest on one of his offshore accounts.
He's "from" Michigan, but they don't want him either. He's also "from" Utah, where he was planning on running for governor before he "settled" on MA as an easier target. He got a "Homestead Exemption" on his house in Utah, and then tried to blame his accountants when the Boston Globe called him on it.
He was elected as a "goof" and because MA has an unfortunate sexist streak which, hopefully, will be overcome with the election of Liz Warren. Since MA has a "weak governor" system, the governor cannot do crap without the say-so of the legislature (overwhelmingly Dem, and even the Republicans aren't stupid).
Here's how it worked in MA: Bill was voted on by legislature, sent to governor for signature. RMoney would veto, legislature would OVERRIDE veto and then mock the little turd roundly as the bill became law. He didn't run for reelection because he was polling in Dubya-End-of-Term numbers...CHENEY numbers!!! Ghastly! He was Governor NO, and Governor Don't-Let-the-Door-Hitya-in-Yer-Ass-On-The-Way-Out!

(46,436 posts)My few right-wing Facebook friends are clinging to this "acts of terror/terrorism" thing as if their lives depended on it. The funny thing is that Romney used those exact words, act of terror, when he was trying to back the president into a corner. Republicans do not live in a fact-based world.
