funniest headline of the campaign....'rick perry assures victory'

Rick Perry assures victory in Aiken campaign stop

Despite finishing near the bottom with Iowa and New Hampshire voters this month, Texas Gov. Rick Perry walked through downtown Aiken on Wednesday and assured supporters of a presidential victory.

His first course of action, after taking his hand off the Bible at inauguration, is to walk into the oval office and “wipe out as much of Obamacare as I can on that day” with an executive order.

Perry said as commander in chief he also intends to pass a balanced budget and create a constitutional amendment cutting the pay for members of Congress and reducing their roles to part-time positions.

“I want you to pick me because I love this country,” Perry said. “Have my back, and I’ll have your back.”

He is confusing his hallucinations with some movie he has seen.
I can see why he is governor of Texas. He is too stupid to hold a job.

And this would be different... how exactly?

What a dumbfuck.

ALL the GOP clown car occupants just spew forth nonsense that has nothing to do with our system of government. It's a complete joke. I can't even watch the news these days... even things like Rachel Maddow, because it all about the GOP stuff.... ZZZZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzzZZZZ. You really only need highlights at this point and not three program-long droning-ons about the subtleties of what went on in every county in whichever unfortunate state is having its primary. Did nothing happen in Africa this week? Nothing happen in South America?
Nothing?
Nothing at all?

I'm sure Perry has thought up all the right things to say to the deep-pocketed mega-donors who coughed up millions for his campaign, confident and ssured that he was the best possible stop-Romney candidate. You tell 'em Ricky boy!

I lived in Aiken until I left for college. Very atypical town for SC. It used to be a winter home for many of the country's richest people, which is why horse industry is so big there. The polo season begins and ends in Aiken. Then in the 50s they built the largest (by acreage) industrial site in the country with the Savannah River Plant - every nuclear weapon ever built by the US had components from the plant. So that brought in a lot of Northerners, and the trend has continued as Aiken has become a major retirement area for people from up North. So while it is fairly affluent and certainly trends Republican, it is one of the least tea partyish areas of the state.
It was also the home of Strom Thurmond until he died at the age of 225.
