No more "Trending now" or "Greatest Threads" on the front page? Dang, I liked those features

Did we just go through an upgrade? I don't see the top five trending now and greatest threads on the front page. Dang. I liked those features. That sure made it easy to find the more interesting posts on DU.

And, I have to admit, it was always pretty cool to turn on DU to see one of your posts "trending now". DU allows me to vent for the most part, but on occasion I will take time to sit down and write a thoughtful original post and to see an original essay trending was a pretty special feeling. Those types of writings don't usually end up on the front page (personal tales vs. latest breaking news) but the exposure of the trending now column really gave some interesting posts a lot of hits.

I also really liked that no story was there for more than a couple of hours. There was always something fresh but highly recommended to read.

Anyone else missing them?
