Again, all rich Republicans think Romney is lying.
Romney claims that his tax plan is to increase the federal income tax on the top 5% by $4.8 trillion over ten years and to redistribute every penny of that tax increase to the lower 95% in the form of tax reduction.
In universal Republican terms, that is the confiscation of $4.8 trillion from the job creators to be redistributed to unproductive members of society.
Have you heard any Romney voter complain about this wealth redistribution plan? Ever?
This is, in terms of Republican party sensibilities, the same as if Obama was running on a promise to nuke Tehran in February 2013 and no Democrat, anywhere, had a peep to say about it.
Canceling the Bush tax cuts on only taxable income over $250K is redistribution. That is party dogma. Taking $4.8 trillion from the top 5% and not using any of that money to pay down the deficit, but rather to give all of it directly to low income people is, however, somehow perfectly fine.
It is as striking as if Romney came out for same sex marriage or federal funding of abortions, but I have never heard anyone on TV even mention this, nor seen any Republican raise concerns about it.
All Republican idealogues assume (correctly) that Romney is lying.
The fact that Democrats would, in fact, object to Obama promising to nuke Tehran is not a weakness... it is not a lack of team spirit that must be overcome. It is humanity and principle of a sort the Republican side lacks from the candidate down to the lowliest volunteer.

about redistribution to the middle class.
