Tucker Carlson: Crowley’s fact check was like Abraham Lincoln’s assassination

Could they get any more ridiculous?

"Daily Caller founder Tucker Carlson says that Candy Crowley’s real-time fact check of Mitt Romney during Tuesday night presidential debate was so devastating that it can be compared to John Wilkes Booth’s assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.

During Tuesday night’s second 2012 presidential debate, Crowley’s instant fact check had briefly stunned the GOP hopeful by undermining his claim that President Barack Obama had not initially referred to the recent attacks in Libya as “acts of terror.”

<snip>

“For most of the play, John Wilkes Booth set there politely, but it was the moment when he didn’t that made history,” Carlson explained, referring to Crowley’s fact check of Romney. “And I thought this was the definitive point in this debate.”

“This changed the debate, this is exactly what moderators are not supposed to do,” he added. “This is kind of serious. There’s only three weeks and we want to know what these guys are like and she prevented us from learning.”

Booth wasn't sitting there politely through most of the night. He was skulking and slithering about trying to avoid attention and detection.

So, not only is it ridiculously overstated, but it's just flat wrong.

Actually, it was more like stopping the assassin's bullet.

Frankly, she did it to get him to finally sit down and shut up. It was his umpteenth attempt to hijack the debate by interrupting and going on and on and on. The only way she could get him to stop bullying her (and the other candidate) was to tell the truth. And for that she gets compared to the nation's most reviled criminal.

lie, and expect the lie to stand until America turns off the TV and goes to bed. They're not upset that Mittens is a fucking liar. They're upset that their strategy, for just one time, DID NOT WORK and actually blew up in Mitt's face.

What a tool.

So Candy correcting the record live during the debate is some kind of a treacherous, treasonous, murderous act? No Tucker, if she knew the truth and chose to remain silent during that exchange with Romney and the President, that would have been akin to murder. (Actually, it would have been a dereliction of her journalistic duty, not murder. I was just trying to make a point...lol!)

Tucker Carlson is the new Douchebag of Liberty. Robert Novak would be proud.

Candy affirmed Pres. Obama but she also slipped in a life saver for Robme (and she's making sure to emphasize that on every interview she goes on). Regardless, the reason why it was a win for Obama and not Romney is because the AUDIENCE cheered, along with the rest of America who HATES Romney (despite all the misleading polls that say otherwise). Repubs can't handle the fact that America does not like Romney.

His poor mom.

And what Candy did is the very definition of moderate. While I am not a huge fan of hers, she did a good job but it will be her last debate. The GOP will never agree to her again. In fact, bet none of the moderators this year will be acceptable again.

Crowley's debate had the TV ratings Tucker imagines his shows had. Every cable network thinks Tucker is a great hirer... but they have all been wrong. The guy is ratings poison because he isn't smart, funny, charismatic, blow hard, crazy... there is no reason to watch, listen or think about this man. Rating prove, it is impossible to be interested in Tucker Carlson.
