He really doesn't think before he speaks. How many times can he contradict himself before election day?

(225 posts)Eight hundred million jobs, and gas is gonna be a penny a gallon, and we'll win all the wars, and everyone will get puppy dogs and rainbows. It's not like the fuckin' idiot ass conservative voters wouldn't buy into it.

(31,849 posts)because economists across the political spectrum have indicated that over the next 4 years (with the economy staying as it is now) this many jobs will be created, anyway.

(60,567 posts)92% of jobs in this country are created by businesses.
I've spoken with many, many business owners about this over the years. Small and large, Democrat, Republican, and other - Most agree that the role of government is to create and maintain a STABLE and PREDICTABLE economic environment so that entrepreneurs can formulate business plans with confidence.
It doesn't matter much how high taxes are - Business owners want to be assured that tax rates aren't going to CHANGE drastically over the next few years. They need to know how much rents, insurance, health care premiums, utilities, and other things are going to cost.
If you can't write a sound, credible business plan, you can't get financing because investors don't want to put money at a level of risk that can't be quantified. Uncertainty in the economy has cascading negative effects on job growth.

(8,699 posts)12 million jobs in 4 years is absurd, in any context. BLS historic metrics don't support it. You can go back 50 years or even 70 years and it has never happened. EVER. That is 250,000 jobs a month, every month, for 4 years straight. It has happened for a year 4 different times over the last 50 but never 4 years in a row. Facts matter. The 47% matter. You matter. Vote.
