Romney purchased a bunch of leather recliners?

I just heard a conservative talk show host on Tamron Hall blasting Romney for having no moral center. He said Romney has previously described himself as being neither pro-choice nor pro-life and that while Governor he tried to appease conservative pro-life leaders around the country by purchasing leather recliners for them.

Seems like an unusual gift. Why would a leather recliner be able to buy a conservative's support?

I know Staples sells leather chairs, but I don't think they include recliners.
