Poll: Vote On Gay Marriage Ban In Minnesota A Dead Heat

The vote on a state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in Minnesota is locked in a statistical tie, according to a poll released Thursday commissioned by KSTP-TV and conducted by SurveyUSA. Forty-seven percent of the 550 likely voters surveyed said they would support the amendment, which would define marriage between one man and one woman, while 46 percent of those polled said they would vote against it. The survey had a margin of error of 4.3 percent.

But nothing on the Voter ID amendment. I'm worried about that one because it's gotten so little attention.

6. The numbers on that are closing fast. It used to be 70-30 for it and it's now much closer to 50-50.

in the last couple of days. They hammer away on the problems this would cause for those in the military and for seniors. They are good ads and I think they will change some minds.

5. Then you hope it doesn't pass. It's a GOP proposal to write bigotry into our state contitution.

The GOP-dominated state legislature got this amendment proposal onto the ballot. If it passes, marriage discrimination will be chiseled in stone in our state constitution, where it's out of the reach of non-bigoted judges, fair-minded governors, and compassionate voters of the future.

The Twin Cities may "carry it" -- but as usual, the Arrowhead will hold its own.

And I saw them around Lutsen, Two Harbors and Duluth when I was up there in late August. They loved Paul Wellstone up there. The Iron Range tends to vote Democratic.

unconstitutional. They are voting to allow the withholding of rights to a groups of Americans. Churches have a right to define marriage based on their views. The government is suppose to allow marriage between two consenting adults as long as it does not present a risk to the general community. Personally I believe gay relationships are a benefit to society and a natural occurrence in nature to keep population growth down.

I live in one of the bluest parts of Minneapolis - a racially diverse family-oriented area -and see nothing but "Vote NO!" signs all the way to the horizon. Even driving around the metro area I have not seen more than two "vote yes" signs but many, many "No" signs. I am hoping that the overwhelming Twin Cities area support will relegate this piece of bigoted crapola to the dustbin of history.

They're voting TO APPROVE the legalization of same-sex marriage. Polls are looking good for passage.
