A progressive one and a conservative one.

The only advice I'd give to the progressive portion is to be conservative on immigration, and don't let any of the republicans in once they see how absolutely shitty their way of "life" is.

in order to be able to prove that the water was originally safe should there be any contamination from fracking later on -

because, you know, people in New York have been drinking water contaminated with propritary fracking compounds since forever!
