(86 posts)His dorm was one of the dorms evacuated. I received a text message from him, while he was in class, in a building right behind the evacuation line. He agreed with some of the students quoted in the article, that Texas State didn't handle it properly.

When I was a grad student at TAMU back in the 80's, there were a number of bomb threats on days when the huge freshman bio classes had exams.

(33,956 posts)BREAKING NEWS: Texas A&M has issued a Code Maroon after a bomb threat was received. Everyone is being asked to evacuate campus by foot immediately. From their website: The University has received a campus-wide bomb threat. We are asking all students, faculty, and staff to evacuate campus as quickly and as safely as possible by foot. Do not use a vehicle at this time. This evacuation is effective immediately until further notice.

(13,468 posts)I recall it happening at several universities about a month ago. I hope everyone down at Texas A&M stays safe. I work at a large university and know university communities have made a lot of notification improvements since Va Tech, but anxiety is heightened as well.
