(14,575 posts)Biden helped to stop the bleeding, BO stopped it and got some positive momentum to get a small, but tangible lead back.
But, there appears to be some slippage from that.
I posted a month ago I wished the election was then, when BO was up about 4 to 5 give or take.
It looked promising for a good, solid win then, but that the post first debate aftermath showed was that:
1) BO did have support on the fringes that was a bit soft and slipped off.
2) Romney had a larger margin of folks undecided that were his, that were not willing to commit until after that first debate, and they are now firmly his.
I know people took exception to it, and I hate Chuck Todd for being the corporatist sell out he is as much as anyone.
But, he DID say about two months ago, if the main battles were in va, flo, co, that it would be very favorable to a bigger bo win, and if the battles were in the mid west states, BO was holding serve.
That is what the race is boiling down to.
Now, for those who want to just bash good democrats for being concern trolls, bo is still is in a much better position, clearly.
But, his campaign went from a rallying win, pushing to get fla and nc to roll up 330ish evs, to falling back to his primary over 270 states in the midwest, and va, co, nv, nh.
Does not mean he is throwing the towel in completely at this point on the outer ring of states. but, romney is clearly taking the battle to bo a lot more at the inner ring of states.

(1,277 posts)Seems like an "Obama can't win" and "they're stealing it!!!1" kind of day in the making from what I can tell.
A lot of doom and gloom. But who knows maybe some will turn that frown upside down by the evening hours.
