Penn Newspaper Owned by Right-Winger Falsely Tells Voters They Need ID

Pennsylvania Newspaper Owned By Top Right-Wing Funder Falsely Claims ID Is Required To Vote

By Ian Millhiser posted from ThinkProgress Justice on Oct 22, 2012 at 9:00 am

The Mount Pleasant Journal is one of several newspapers run by Trib Total Media, a media conglomerate owned by billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife. Scaife’s foundation donated hundreds of millions of dollars to conservative organizations ranging from the American Enterprise Institution to the Federalist Society, and he currently serves as vice-chairman of the right-wing Heritage Foundation’s board of trustees.

Some enterprising lawyer should find a bunch of disenfranchised voters after the election and use a class-action suit to relieve him of some of his money.

As a pleasant side effect, the suit would give cheating Republicans another black eye in the news.

People should be able to sue that bastard that threw the registration forms away too, and the organization he works for.

It's only a weekly and nobody actually reads it. The only thing they do read from it are personal vanity stories, other than that it's pretty much devoid of content. The bigger problem is the Trib-Review and their association with local TV and their web presence.
