(20,912 posts)The debate is show for the ill informed. It is great political theatre for those of us that feed on it. But seriously a well informed American has no need to watch any of these debates. The campaign is over a year old at this point. I got class tonight so I'll miss all three games tonight, but I am not pretending the debate isn't just another game...

(24,853 posts)That a problem? If I'm already voting for Obama, why do I need to watch?

(58,179 posts)God, I am *so* fucking stupid for liking baseball and football.
Good thing I have TiVo, so I can tape the football game tonight and masturbate to it after I write my debate review article.
Pretty full night, actually.

(6,342 posts)Majority of Americans hate politics.
The only people legitimately worried or nervous about this election are political/news junkies. Most Americans don't think it makes a difference who wins. Only 57% of the voting-age population voted in 2008. That means more than 100 million Americans that were eligible to vote did not cast any ballot.

I'll even come by and give you some fucking updates. How's that?
Perhaps they don't have tivo or DVR's where you're from.

I don't enjoy watching reality TV. I makes me uncomfortable.
If for some reason I care about the outcome, I can read about it the next day.

(15,953 posts)Consider what percentage of the population is still undecided and what percentage of the undecided will care enough to watch. By far the audience for this debate is going to be people that are already committed to a candidate.
