I remember how, in 2008, she kept insisting that McCain would win, even long after Obama had opened up substantial leads in all the polls.

She was always asking somebody to "talk her down" - it just got to be too much. Apparently she's doing it again. I like her; she's very smart, but...

I am tired of hearing how close this race is. Maybe it is good in one way, to get the Democrats to the polls. It not a tie. Sometimes Rachel makes me mad.

This race is close with most swing states in the margin of error. Yes we are leading in most of those states but it is still in the margin of error

steadily and no one called him on it.

I think they get their marching order too. If they were to come out and say most meta analysis has it in the bag for Obama people might not be too interested in watching the debate. This way they are glued to their seats.....and watching MSNBC'S commercials.

It's starting to piss me off.

I don't really think the "horse race" meme changes votes, or depresses our vote, if anything, doesn't it make us GOTV more by them claiming its close or that we are behind. We are almost done with this long long long damn campaign and WE WILL WIN... Two more weeks...

that are, unfortunately, making this race close. Race - he's lost votes amongst White Male voters, dramatically. Even among working class Dems. I believe racism alone has cost him a 5% lead, one a white Democratic candidate would not have faced. Obama is dealing, also, with the backlash of young, progressive voters who supported him in 2008 (God knows what they've told pollsters, if anything). Eeeek.
