Frankly, it seemed a bit like a concession speech to me.

Like Romney knows he's going to lose, he decided he wants to protect his family from the rigorous scrutiny of life in the White House and wanted to go out gracefully, on what he knows is his last big chance to be seen by many millions as Somebody.

But maybe I'm way off base...? They were calling it a 'vigorous' debate, but I just didn't see it.

to be dumped on any longer, in light of her health issues - that it stresses her out, and I'm betting that the decision Mitt made was "I'm going to lose, I can't do this to Ann, so I'm going to do it my way."

I have the feeling there are things we are not being told.
I have the feeling someone may have had a chat with someone about some things.
I have a feeling Romney knows he is going to lose.

I don't believe I've ever seem Obama that assertive, he looked like he could chew nails.
I am reminded of the way he looked when he said "Please proceed, Governor."

I thought Schieffer did good (as these things go).

But no real clues, just a guy that looks beat, and knows he better behave.

No first tier Republican wanted to be the one to run against the first black president in history. Especially knowing their own base and how ugly it would get with racism. All of that would get linked to the candidate.

Also the Republicans HATE Romney and this was a great way of getting rid of him. He wouldn't go away on his own so they can brand him a loser in this election and watch him fade away.

BTW: Do you really believe they wanted to create a Mormon dynasty with Mitt's sons running like Dubya did? There are plenty of others in line who don't want to hand it to those spoiled brats.

That was the point when it was obvious that Jeb's chances were over as Dubya had ended the Bush Crime Family as far as the public was concerned.

And I just KNOW that Pappy Bush blames Cheney and the Neocons for it.

At one point Pappy went to see Dubya but those guys convinced Dubya to ignore the advice from his father because his father was a loser who failed to get Saddam and only had one term. I believe they told him refusing advice from his father would make him all growed up....

Haley Barbour is way up on the list for the Southern vote. The guy has that classic Boss Hogg charm and then there's their heartland heart throb Chuck Grassley who's very name sounds like a harvester. You have to look to the governors and former governors for the most part. That's traditionally where Presidents come from. They aren't interviewed nationally.

Remember them? White Anglo Saxon Protestants. Archie Bunker types with their "Protestant Work Ethic". All they had to do was claim Obama was increasing welfare and that base was off and flying. They really believe Obama is giving back door reparations and the choice in this election is either valuing the idea of working for a living or being a lazy bum getting free money from the government.

Rachael was talking about how normally the candidate has a big rally after a debate and gloats if they win and spins if they lose but Romney doesn't do that. Personally, I think he goes off and collapses as if it was totally exhausting. Rich people act like this kind of thing is hard work.
