U.S. Attorney John Walsh sent letters to 23 medical marijuana dispensaries in Colorado on Thursday, warning them that they faced legal repercussions if they did not close down within 45 days.

“This letter constitutes formal notification that a marijuana dispensary is operating on the above described property in violation of federal law,” the letter states. “You are further advised that the real property is subject to forfeiture, and any money you receive, or have received, from the dispensary owner may also be subject to seizure and forfeiture.”

The 23 dispensaries were specifically targeted because they were each within 1,000 feet of a school.

What's worse in close proximity to schools, a medical marijuana dispensary where one cannot obtain cannabis without proper documents or a police station where corrupt cops thug for the 1%?

How many school children really walk into MMJ dispensaries and buy dope over the counter? I'd bet it's an exceedingly rare event.

It's an observation , not a Condemnation . And it's asinine notion that Any children walk ,run or fly into a MMJ AT ALL ,I was just saying 23 within 1000 ft was excessive ,lighten up.

Mildly amusing story: I was running around town Monday and went past one dispensary like four times -- witness the inefficiency of my route.

Anyhoo. I had the windows rolled up but noticed a serious skunky smell the first couple of times I went past. No way, I thought to myself. Were they like pumping out the smell to attract business like a fast food place?!?

Nope. True story: by coincidence, an unlucky skunk met his maker on that precise intersection. I finally spotted the remains on my third drive-by.

Funny old world.
