53. I hope you add Lawrence O'Donnell to your list
Tue Oct 23, 2012, 06:27 PM
Oct 2012

He is great.

He had the funniest segment about a week and one-half ago. He introduced a right-winger running for the House from some place down South. O'Donnell talked a little about some outrageous remarks this campaigner was making. The most prevalent one O'Donnell singled out was the remark that we don't need anything but the Bible for our guide as to how we deal with certain issues. For every transgression, the Bible tells us the remedy. (I am paraphrasing O'Donnell's rendition of his commentary on this candidate. But the information relayed was done with a totally serious face.)

At one point, Lawrence O'Donnell opened his Bible and announced he would like to read from the Book of Deuteronomy. (Paraphrasing again) Any man who is caught lying with a woman, and the man is the husband of another woman shall be put to death.)

At that point, Lawrence closed his Bible and looked into the camera unsmilingly and said, I look forward to Congressman So and So's draft legislation on the issue of adultery being punished by the death penalty. I believe Newt Gingrich should be held accountable for committing adultery on his first two wives.

Fade to Black.

This segment was so stunning to me I thought it was brilliant. And O'Donnell rendered it so straightfaced.

Once again, all quotes loose paraphrasing....

I really have trouble watching any of them, and often get stuck in a doctor office or lobby somewhere and try to blank out the senseless blabbering of those hosts and pundits which is almost as bad as Access Hollywood or one of those trash programs. Alex Witt is one name I remember as being pretty bad.

They are absolutely meaningless. Anybody at this site who still doesn't understand how the electoral college works should be banned.

When one posts a national poll, that is equivalent to saying, "I'm an idiot. I don't know anything about our electoral process."

There are 10 states that matter, period. Namely: NH, PA, OH, WI, IA, VA, NC, FL, CO, and NV. National polls mean nothing.

Besides USA has SUV Law Order marathon on tuesdays.

I do have to admit that I did start to watch their post-debate show but the minute they started yapping about Mittens looking in charge and commander in chiefish I flipped that channel to Criminal Minds. At least in that show they call the crazy people out and lock'um in jail. Unlike the m$m which calls them presidential.

Mittens is nuts, which is what I took away from the first debate, and the second and most defiantly the last debate. He talked way to fast, repeated false information, basically acted like a whinny brat in all 3 debates. Ryan the same - he is an annoying twit with ears.

Anyway all I know is early voting starts in my area oct 27 I plan on voting either monday oct 29, or on my birthday the 30.... We are in that I 4 swing area, sadly not orange county (they vote more dem then where I am). I'm in seminole county and surrounded by rethugs, ick!

They NEED to manufacture DRAMA for viewers to keep tuning in,
and sponsors to keep paying Premium prices for spots.

The sadder secret is that both Political Parties also NEED for the election to appear
Too-Close-to-Call so that they can keep the last minute donations pouring in.
Elections & Perpetual Campaigns are a Multi-Billion Dollar Big Business now in America.
THAT is a LOT of jack,
and it all dries up if one party gets too far ahead.

Think about this: if they reported "Obama's got this, hands down", Dem voter turnout would be lower than if they reported "Aaaaahh!! Too Close to Call!!".

I'm still just completely amazed at 40% of the country is supporting Willard. I could understand the "1%" richest, but come on. I guess Ignorance and Apathy rule: Don't Know, Don't Care = Happy.

37. Just a theory-
Tue Oct 23, 2012, 04:12 PM
Oct 2012

Perhaps a powerful entity, such as Rupert Murdock, might be offering money- big money- to reporters and commentators, (the ones on networks that FOX wants to control, which is all of them), like a rewards program for showing how crafty they are at spinning whatever comes along in Romney's favor.

Something like:

"We are watching you,_____,(Fill in the name of the talking-head), and you may be offered a big job on FOX if you say the right things, the right way, that is, the FAR REICH way."

(And the female news 'common 'taters' are the most obvious. They sit there almost snorting, with their mouth twisted into a sneer. J'ever notice? They make me sick.)

Of course I could be wrong. This is only a theory....But why else would they bend over so far backwards to be complimentary to Romney?

No way does it have anything to do with patriotism because they are hurting our country with their support of these Republican liars.

It's got to have something to do with money....it's personal.

44. Here's the news chain of propaganda
Tue Oct 23, 2012, 04:46 PM
Oct 2012

It starts with Rove sending the day's talking points to Drudge; from Drudge it goes to Limbaugh/hate radio; next is Pox News; after that CNN, and then onto the rest of the corporate media.
I knew something was askew in 98 when not one news source reported that Clinton was impeached under specious grounds. They all cheer leaded for Clinton's impeachment.
The confirmation came in 2003 when the Bush cartel took the country to war premised on lies and the media refused to cover millions marching in the streets opting to promote an illegal, immoral invasion, destruction and occupation of a sovereign nation that neither threatened nor harmed the United States.
And when Howard Dean was the first public figure to say the war was a hoax he was pilloried by the corporate propaganda stooges. And when Howard Dean said the capture of Saddam Hussein didn't make us one iota safer the corporate smear merchants pitched a fit. Dean was right and so were the millions marching in the streets. The media/propaganda outlets were all wrong.
Every day more Americans are turning to alternate means for their information. As the propaganda outlets in the old Soviet Union became a national joke, the "official" news went toward lining bird cages.
It's only a matter of time before CNN and the rest get the message: No one care what they have to say.
