After the debate, Donnelly said Mourdocks view on rape and conception was disturbing.
I cant believe that my God, or any God, would intend it to happen, he said, according to a veteran reporter for the Evansville Courier & Press.
In a written statement from his campaign, Donnelly expanded on the remark.
The God I believe in and the God I know most Hoosiers believe in, does not intend for rape to happenever, he said. What Mr. Mourdock said is shocking, and it is stunning that he would be so disrespectful to survivors of rape.
