This is why using the word even to refer back to her is a problem. Most people outside of the disability community are not aware of this. Nor are they aware of the fact that it is a word that has been used in bullying incidents for a very long time. Just some info that explains further why this man wrote this letter.

(904 posts)As beautiful as this letter is, it will mean nothing to Ms. Coulter. She revels in her evilness and hatred, has no heart and only cares about herself. Anyone with a shred of humanity would find the letter written by this wonderful young man to be heart warming, unfortunately Ms. Coulter is as evil and heartless as they come, a true sociopath.

(12,081 posts)I love how many people are standing up to bullying and hate speech these days. When I grew up that kind of language and behavior was just accepted and no one stood up to it. I have to wonder if people who spew nothing but hate all day everyday ever feel bad about what they do. At the very least I can't imagine being that hateful can lead to a very happy and peaceful existence.

(12,081 posts)having strong family values for giving birth to babies with down syndrome and other disabilities, but they don't support the social programs that help disabled people and they are unapologetic when using derogatory language about disabled people. In fact, most of them are anti anti-bullying. Every time an anti-bullying bill is voted on they are right there defending people's right to bully other people.

(13,225 posts)with a mountain of challenges. And yet the man who has had to work and struggle in his daily life to overcome prejudice and bullying in addition to his disability is the real success story here. The Republican mindset values money and power and not the contributions people make to their fellow human beings. How sad.

People assume that it's okay to turn it around on our "enemies" with no regard for what it means to people who have that condition.

The President of the United States also has help. He very often delivers lines and speeches that are written for him by other people.

(199 posts)Ann Coulter is nothing but a real life version of an internet troll. The more reaction she gets, the more attention she gets. Negative or positive, she doesn't care as long as it gets her noticed.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)ignorant, 'snarky' knee-jerk attacks every time.
There are over 2,000 responses to his letter. Coulter is old 'news', she is struggling to get attention the old way, the way she did long ago when her kind of dialogue was 'new'. But it grew old fast and she is now completely irrelevant even among Republicans.
But this letter shows that intelligence and patience and strength of character never grow old.
If this was a contest, he just crushed her.

(283 posts)Ms Coulter does not be allowed on any television or Cable Network for her very ugly and intolerant comments especially spewed at the President.

(1,665 posts)The letter was amazing. It's too bad Ann's followers got to the page.
The first handful of comments I saw* were all either bashing the President, trying to excuse Ann's remark, or trying to justify Ann's remark.
Stay classy republicans. Stay classy.
*Before I got too sick to continue reading.
EDITED TO ADD:
Apparently I just picked a bad time to read the article. There are still a handful of Coulter-bots defending her, but by and large the comments are positive. Thank goodness.

(6,891 posts)first sentence. Ann Coulter is both dumb and shallow. Hate mongering and verbal cruelty are not attributes of higher order intelligence anymore than being an affected harpy is an attribute of wisdom.

(8 posts)At this point, its become exhausting to be outraged at anything coming out of Coulter's mouth.
I honestly believe that woman not only doesn't care who she offends, but she gets a perverse thrill about being absolutely reviled by decent human beings.
She would have made a great pro-wrestling "heel"
