Note that this page didn't go to the county with the most likelihood of residents supporting same-sex marriage. Accident or not, what do you think?
We got a tip from a Maryland voter who says his absentee ballot arrived in the mail missing an entire page.
That means he couldnt vote on some of the most talked-about ballot issues, including Question 6 on same-sex marriage, Question 7 on expanded gambling and all of his local county ballot initiatives.
We spoke to multiple election officials today. The Maryland State Board of Elections Deputy Administrator Ross Goldstein confirmed that some absentee ballots in Montgomery and Prince Georges counties are missing the second page.

What was it exactly?

(36,418 posts)I'd suggest that if this is anything other than a mistake, it's the gambling interests that would be behind it.

(21,475 posts)Corruption can happen a lot further down the line without approval from the Governor or Secretary of State. I would imagine it was done by a state election worker either by accident or with full intent and no matter what the intent, the deed is done and those issues will not get voted upon by those people that received those ballots. I suspect it was done deliberately, but have no evidence what so ever either way...

(17,651 posts)Too many people seem to think that marriage equality is only reserved for hetero couples and would do anything to prevent equal rights for all. Not sure about the issues with gambling.
Social issues get left off the ballots, depends on the intent of those in charge of putting the ballot packets together.
Perhaps not really considered as serious since the Presidential or down ticket candidates are included.
I just hope there's a way to correct the problem!!

(21,718 posts)where I am living. My next door neighbor put out an Obama yard sign, and I told her thank you for putting it out. She said that she ordered the yard sign in September and just got it. The county and the state of Maryland are usually a solid blue state, but all these Romney yard signs worry me. I have not seen many Obama yard signs in the neighborhood.
The area is so reliably blue that the redistricted Chris Van Hollan to another area and made our rep Bartlett, who is one of the Tea Party reps to try to unseat him. I hate these redistricting games.

I think the redistricting is a question on the ballot, but I'm not sure if it's on page 2 or not of the MC ballot.

(21,718 posts)But the redistricting will be in effect for this election, if it is voted down, a new redistricting that has already been drawn up will be in effect for the next election in 2 years. But the number of Romney/Ryan signs is disturbing to me.

(67,112 posts)illegal. Like when a state/municipality is voting on something and hoards of money and advertising come in from out of state to swing the election. To me, it's manipulative and fraudulent to have out of state money influencing local elections.
