Not one step back

This is strictly between us liberals…

This post is to say one thing and one thing only. I will not accept or align myself with any “grand bargain” as it pertains to weakening any of the social safety net programs. I want these programs expanded! These programs have, by and large, not added anything to the national deficit and they have done much to protect us from the ravages of unrestrained capital excess. In addition, (if you follow Krugman or are a Keynesian you already know this) this would be the worst time to try and implement any kind of austerity trying to bring down the debt. THE WORST TIME. As such, I do not agree or accept that we should make any negative changes to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid as it relates to service or funding decreases.

As an FYI, I fully support Obama in this election as the above mentioned programs would be decimated under a Romney administration. I just want it known that my support comes with certain expectations.
NO Grand Bargain!
