I smell a landslide of Reagan proportions.
Look at the early voting.
Too bad we can't take the house back, too.

(154,021 posts)according to Leader Pelosi as early as February, here in California no less, the House is in play.

(9,696 posts)In an interview (I can't remember who it was with, maybe Rachel) I got the distinct impression that she didn't want a lot of attention on house races. She doesn't want a lot of opposition money poured into races would be my guess. But she does have a strategy and knows exactly which seats could make the difference. And yes, California is a big part of her strategy.
So, shhhhhh!

(52,169 posts)we just don't have the ability to overcome the gerrymandering and the unforced errors on our part. In IL we had hoped to win 4 seats and will be lucky to win 2. In MA we are losing one. In NH we might well get none. I would love to be wrong but Obama just isn't doing well enough for us to win the House under any scenario that is likely.

Good chance it will be like the last election without Indiana but an outside chance of an AZ pickup.
Not giving up hope on the House.

(2,514 posts)like AZ we don't need the EV.. would sure be nice to get that seat this cycle...
if we can pick up a seat or 2 we can get to work on the next cycle and pick up more perhaps... i know myself i won't let another off year election kill us again..

(7,968 posts)We have a fight still ahead in Ohio as the Repukes are going to try there best to steal it... We have to be preparing for that and winning so many states that they can't
Not close enough to steal. I think you may be living in 2004. It's +5 Obama now and Romney has never had the lead in any credible poll. It's that "Let Detroit go bankrupt" thingie. Ohio will not forget that.
Ignore the horse race media and the horse race pollsters. Especially ignore the they're gonna steal it again Moaning Myrtles. Nobody can steal an election that isn't close, especially in Ohio.
So, I would ask you to hold your horses.
Your concern is noted.

(9,753 posts)Whether such a theft went unnoticed. I really don't think they do.
Whether they have the wherewithal to pull a 2004 on us is moot but if you're basing your assumption on the notion that they'd be embarrassed by obviously dishonest counts, I think you underestimate the depth of their disdain for the electorate.

(40,416 posts)In 2008, there were many similar stolen election predictions here. I usually ignore them, but they do get tiring as they seem to seep into any and all positive posts. So this year I am occasionally responding.
The proof is in the pudding. When Barack Obama is reelected you will know that you were incorrect in your evaluations. No, I will not gloat. I would prefer to remain friendly.
Keep on, keeping on, my friend.

(36,161 posts)Her report was quality journalism about a ground-up political process. OFA in Ohio has had a ground game plan that beats big money and is something that should gratify all Democrats. OFA and its workers stayed after 2008 and built relationships throughout the state. Very important strategy.
I hope they did something like that in the other swing states, as well.

(28,158 posts)I read today he did a conference call with his big donors begging for money to ramp up his game in swing states. What? His campaign has been tossing out money on ads like it was beads at mardi gras. They only just now realized you have to have a skilled, working ground team?
They thought they could throw insane amounts of money at this election, and that would fix the situation. Get people on board to disenfranchise Dem voters, be it legal or not, and out spend Obama. That's all they thought they had to do. No matter how weak their candidate.

(2,424 posts)What kind of credible ground game would employ a drunk Meat Loaf, fill a tiny portion of Ford Field, or turn an un choreographed Clint Eastwood loose on your most important night?
As bad as Mitt's organization looks at the top, you can go ahead and parlay that down to the bottom.
His ground game sucks. He can't run a campaign let alone the government.
Bad investment for the 1%. Really, really bad investment.
oldhippydude
(2,514 posts)they did that in the primary, and it worked.... their mistake was thinking that they could deal with OFA, like they did the GOP clown car..
