Is there a concerted effort on behalf of Rmoney et al. to give the impression that he has the momentum in the election so that the voting machines can be set to do the dirty deed of vote flipping?? (Ya, I can't even believe I just typed that!)

They have key states controlled by GOP Secretary of States.

(13,485 posts)since I came here. This exact scenario. But what could be done is they did? This could be a constitutional crisis if I ever could imagine one. Push to make it look close in the eyes of the ignorant, then pad and peal till it's done by whatever means. Who or how is anyone to investigate or convict?
Our only hope has always been something close to a landslide. I have said this over and over.

(223 posts)Look how closely they match, mainly because they both see a plus 3 gop electorate. The reality is that is 10 pts off, so everything you see, approval, toplines, is about 8 pts off. Take 46-49 approval, unskew that you get 50-45. That is the reality, as is the President leading by 3, 50-47. But the country has enough dumbass in it that if they make a run at stealing it, they have their polling whores to "validate." Worse, if their approval trends are an indicator, their poll may get worse before it gets better.

(14,040 posts)Is the Obama campaign telling us they have the momentum because they plan on stealing it or are both campaigns saying it to win the PR war? People generally don't want to back a loser so if Romney sounds like he's losing, he could lose votes. I'm not saying the GOP isn't out to disenfranchise voters (which includes vote flipping) but I think there have been too many lights shone on the voting issues by the MSM (minus fox) that they can't really get away with stealing it. If it comes down to Ohio and Tagg's voting machines, I would imagine people will look closely and question that. Or, I could be completely naive. Besides, I don't think it's going to be all that close.

(13,485 posts)and is going on. It's been fairly documented. The problem are those voting machines. I'm pretty well versed in computer hardware and programming, and making an accusation about digital hardware then proving it could be made easily impossible. That's the real tragedy of using digital devices for voting. You can't just say, "let's take a look". before you pronounce the first "l" of "let's" the evidence can be juggled or eliminated.
Who ever thought voting could be done with digital devices was planning vote fraud from the start. At this particular time, There is no way, I repeat, NO way digital devices can be made to function error free or without gaping holes that can be easily tiptoed through. Ask any amateur hacker.

(5,792 posts)graphs and shows just how it was done this year in the Primaries and in previous years and that those without machines were true votes and no anamolies were recorded with paper ballot voting. Now is the time to do something about this. There are those here like you who are sincere and want a difference in our vote system. We need to ban together and try to get to the right people who are respected and will be listened to.

(13 posts)I believe that the tin hat folks are right in their paranoid conclusions. Here in Tennessee we are totally at the mercy of the magic black boxes. There is NO paper trail for vote verification. All the machines are manufactured by partisan owned, privately held companies. They are run on secret, proprietary software and are serviced by representatives from the companies. The question must be asked, "What could possibly go wrong?".
Personally, given that most people are in complete denial about the possibility of actual election fraud as opposed to implied voter fraud, I believe that this won't be properly addressed until something outrageous happens.
Given the fact that whole precincts have already flipped from one party to the other and more votes were registered than were cast on several occasions without national investigations, I think it's going to have to be truly weird to register on the consciousness of the average voter.
My particular fantasy is that some hackers could get hold of the things necessary in the software and flip an entire election (all positions) to a small party like the Greens. That would awaken even the most profound slumberer.
Of course this would not be without cost. The actual hacker who did this would get caught and there would probably be heavy penalties. But, he/she could take pride in being the martyr who saved America.

It means that they are a realist.
The GOP will use any method that they can get away with, and even some they can't get away with, to try to steal this election.
Disenfranchising voters is only the tip of the iceberg.
