Dog fight: Dieting dachshund in custody tiff

http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-10-25/news/34734386_1_doxie-edition-dog-fight-care

"Biggest Loser, Doxie Edition/via Facebook Vanatta put Obie on a special diet. She said that he still struggles to walk and is not healthy enough to exercise yet.

"He's a dog. He's not a celebrity," Rangan continued, adding that it was also the way Obie traveled to the shows in New York that made her come "unglued."

"I was told that Obie was being flown first class," Rangan said. "But then I found out he was on a six-hour flight to New York in cargo."

Vanatta confirmed that Obie flew in cargo, but maintained that she never told Rangan that he'd be flying first class.

Vanatta also said that the money she has received for Obie has only gone to his care.

She added that there was never any paperwork exchanged — and that she wants to keep Obie at least until he reaches his goal weight."

Obie's owners are older folks suffering from dementia. They are in foster care now, which is why their family members gave Obie to Oregon Dachshund Rescue.

He's walking on the beach -- He's WALKING, something he couldn't do when he came into Nora's home. Nora's doxie Noggin is encouraging Obie at every step of the way.
Rangan wants the money. It's telling that she will drop the lawsuit if Nora coughs up what Rangan now thinks Obie is worth: $5,000.
