Man, this election cycle is taking it out of me. I am so tired. We have a lot going on at home and with our business, so that is adding to it, but this seems to have been a particularly tough election to weather. And it ain't over yet.
I swear, I think we are just going to get shit faced and go to bed early Tuesday night. I am not sure I can take staying up to watch.

(14,910 posts)Only there is one more phone bank, one more canvas route, a day off, and poll driver volunteer day left.
Then I can pass out...

(9,854 posts)I made some calls the other day. We just moved our business and are still in the process of settling in with that. We all just feel stretched so thin. We live right on the NC/SC border and politics has gotten a little ugly down here. You have to be careful who you talk to and Facebook isn't safe any more.
I just want it over so we can go back to worrying about all the other crap we have to worry about in a day!!

(6,160 posts)It is that way here in Tennessee. I have been keeping very quiet both in person and on Facebook in the past few weeks. The rage is hitting new heights in red states as it becomes beyond their comprehension that Obama is probably going to win. How will they cope?
On Facebook I have unfriended three or four people I formerly respected because of their insidious attacks on Obama. Still have hundreds on my friends list who support Romney, but are not overtly malicious against Obama. My plan is to post a smiley face with no comment the second the election is called for Obama. Some will know what it means. Others are too stupid.
So, yes I am tired and anxious for the conclusion of this election.
Best of luck with the business move.

But I try to pace myself.

(14,910 posts)You sir, deserve a break.
However, Cuomo is just as much in need of pressure after the election as any.
I do not necessarily trust that he will fold on hydrofracking and give the keys to oil/gas after the election.

(73,605 posts)every couple of days, to see if I'm in them. (smile)
I learned, as an amateur boxer who frequently fought several bouts in a single day, how to pace myself.
I'm getting ready right now, to drive to another county for a Democratic Party breakfast meeting. Then, I'll spend some time with my wife & youngest daughter. After that, it'll be a few hours invested in the epidemiological study I'm conducting.
Two days ago, I had a curious confrontation with "hate." A fellow I had never seen before decided to harass me outside a store, and then follow me inside, and threaten me. He did so, because he found my hair offensive. I'm considering writing an OP here on DU:GD about that odd experience.
I have some very interesting news on the fracking front, too. I think that you will like it!

(10,044 posts)I hate what the Republicans are doing. They are accusing Obama of exactly what they are doing, only he isn't doing what they say, and the economy is not reacting badly to his presidency, but to crimes of the last administration and the damnable tea party who are incapable of saying anything true.

(12,606 posts)On the election: I had already decided to vote for 2012 Obama in 08.
No worries there.
It is tough tough dealing with all of the lies and listening to some of my family being in the tank for rMoney.

(1,231 posts)In VA, we have elections every year. I know the drill. But I have been working the past month in the field and even though I worked for 10 months straight in 2008, I am wiped out after just 30 days. Can't sleep - brain won't turn off - and just drained. This has been a particularly ugly campaign and it's been extremely stressful.
4 more days, people. Chins Up!! We campaign for Obama/Biden - so much to be proud of.

(28,158 posts)I love politics, and being involved in campaigns. This year though it has been more draining than usual for me. Local races have been the real drain, to be honest. The Republicans have been taken over by a bunch of hate mongering assholes. At least in Texas they have. I've been canvassing for almost 20 years and never had to deal with such jerks before when you accidentally are given a bad address.
