. . . the way folks have mobilized past whatever political qualms they might have had over the economy or other concerns and issues has been a remarkable thing to witness. I can see how voters have made the correct calculation that this choice is about momentum and direction; as much as it's about scorecards and recriminations. Pres. Obama has organized his supporters to focus on the political process, and to believe in their own ability to pave the political landscape toward very specific legislative goals. There's lots of expectation behind all of this participation that their votes can still make a difference. That's just the political capital that's needed to advance more of our progressive agenda -- not a guarantee, but a compelling opportunity behind all of the promises. That's what I see in these wonderful, hopeful crowds.
