Long long lines at the Leon county, FL courthouse.

In about 2 hours, we handed out 150 bottles of water and 2 big baskets of snacks for people waiting in line. Bill Clinton was in town last night and I'm sure that helped turn out, too.
BTW stop saying that North Florida is like Alabama. Leon and the surrounding counties are BRIGHT blue--those people are not standing in line to vote for Romney.

...another table? another booth? I can't understand why the system can't accommodate WE THE PEOPLE!

We told them that we were from the Obama campaign but that this is nonpartisan food and everyone is welcome to it. They really appreciated both the food and the water.

I really didn't see any elderly people. We have two universities here, one of which is Florida A & M a black university, and the other is FSU, many of whose students are very liberal. We also have a community college--so between thee three there are lots of liberal professors, too!

....and even places like Duval (Jacksonville) and Flagler which were considered Republican locks have been growing increasingly blue in recent years.

that the long lines in Florida are only in blue districts, to hopefully discourage would-be voters?

I just heard on my local radio in NY that voting lines in Florida are 3 hour waits.

this is as it has been for years and years in all states where there is a repub SOS. Always shortages of machines and ballots. Workers arriving late to open polls. Machines not working at all. All in Democratic districts. While repub districts have extra ballots, extra machines that never break down. I remember one poll in Ohio in 2004 where every machine in the place broke down within the first hour and didn't get replaced till later in the afternoon. Blackwell was SOS and I don't remember who it was in that county, but I do remember he was charged with something.
