Similar to the 'Game Change' book I just finished. Assuming Romney loses, I will relish seeing exactly what hell was going on behind the scenes in one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen. There has to have been incredible infighting, panic and general dysfunction. It will be delicious.

(62,683 posts)Although some tried to trash it (truth hurts) Steve Schmidt said (about the movie) it was accurate enough to give him PTSD.
If the movie was that true to reality, I'd imagine the book would be even more so.
And yes, I'd love to see one about Romney's campaign. There have been a few game changes along the way.

(6,286 posts)It ended too abruptly, at the point where Hillary accepted the SoS slot. I don't know if the movie was the same, as I never saw it. But it felt anticlimatic. Other than that, it was a fascinating read. Would suggest that DUers who have a soft spot for Elizabeth Edwards (and I know there are many) not read it. She does not come off well at all in the book. No one does, frankly.

(272 posts)I've been watching Mitt Romney step in it over and over, and there have been hints of chaos coming from his campaign staff (for example, that Romney displays little to no interest in foreign policy and a staffer was unsure if he read any of the briefs they provided him with), and I'll bet there's a trove of drama that would make a great book and/or movie. To me, the movie Game Change was absolutely fascinating, and while I won't say how many times I've seen it, I'll admit it was a lot.

(21,925 posts)Why did the co-chairman of Romney's campaign suddenly quit without prior notice with just a few weeks before election day? I'm talking about Tim Pawlenty. And the keynote speaker at Romney's convention, Chris Christie, would barely mention Romney's name in the most important speech prior to Romnoid's nomination.

seemed to be able to speak with conviction..he was "programmed"
and the program changed often..
