Richard Carter (R) Deception (NE-LD 45)

3 November 2012

PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

Bellevue, Nebraska: Charlene Ligon, Chair of the Sarpy County Democrats, denounced the recent campaign mailing by Sarpy County Legislative candidate Richard Carter.

Richard Carter for Legislature funded a postcard mailing decorated with the symbols of the Democratic Party, including an endorsement from Burke Summers, who is titled as the county’s Democratic Chairman. Summers is not the current county chair, and has not been involved with the local party for more than five years.

“This unprecedented voter deception purposely misleads area voters,” Ligon said. “It appears this postcard was designed to trick voters into believing the Sarpy County Democratic Chair supports Carter for Legislature, and this is not the case. Voters should not trust a candidate who knowingly distorts facts for their campaign. This exhibits a sincere lack of integrity.”

For more information, please contact Sarpy County Chair, Charlene Ligon at info@sarpydemocrats.org.

Now the former Republican turned Democrat (ran for US Congress 4 years ago) and then supported the R after he lost in the primary wants D's to think the former County Chair supports him. Strange the conservative wants to show a retired union president supporting him. He used a quote Burke made when he supported Carter in the primary 4 years ago. That is how old the quote is.

There is also a phone call from an unnamed (not legal) group saying is is the D's campaign with incorrect info to piss off the R's.

Hard to believe I voted for Carter in the primary 4 years ago.
