#3. Don't argue, just ask for specifics. This video from New Left Media shows you how. A guy with a mic just walks around Romney rally asking respectful questions. Then asking follow ups. Then patiently waiting for them to make sense. He is the liberal Job.

You've got Thanksgiving coming up. You know Uncle Phil's gonna get drunk and start bloviating about the election. You've got 3 weeks to practice your patience. Don't argue. Just engage and listen. Um, better start talkin to Phil before that second beer. You know how he gets and you don't want him sulking through the whole game.

My Brother started it...we just pretend we can't hear them and have a conversation about art or food or vacation plans. Sometimes they get it and just shut up and sometimes they get louder. The louder they get the softer we chat until they get how ridiculous they are.

It actually works for us. Thanksgiving used to be a nightmare but now it's back under control in a few uncomfortable minutes.

That I encounter. I ask them questions about what it is they believe and why they believe it. I get those same awkward pauses and deer-in-the-headlights looks every time. Every. Time. These people really have no fucking clue what they're saying.
