According to a new national poll from High Point University, more registered voters in the United States would rather have lunch with Obama than Romney.

The poll wasn’t based on the candidates’ favorite foods, however. It simply asked registered voters across the country, “Regardless of who will receive your vote for president, which presidential candidate, Democrat Barack Obama or Republican Mitt Romney, would you rather have lunch with?”

Fifty-three percent selected Obama while 39 percent selected Romney. Four percent had no preference, and 5 percent would rather go hungry.

The margin of sampling error is about 5 percent, so percentages don’t total 100 due to rounding.
