President Obama Rallied 24,000 In Virginia

President Obama and former President Bill Clinton rallied a crowd of 24,000 people in Bristow, Virginia Sunday night, according to the Associated Press. It was the president's fourth event of the day.

I would imagine that combined, the total hasn't come close to 24,000.

This venue is in Prince William County, VA. It is Northern VA, but it's definitely the outer reaches of the DC metro area. So far out, in fact, that most of the people there were certainly county residents (as opposed to folks from closer-in NoVa counties). It's almost exclusively suburban, large (400,000), rich, and purple.

Obama carried the county handily in 2008 (57-42), but GWB carried it in 2004 (53-46). So to have 24,000 show up there for a rally is important. It's a critical county if Obama is going to win VA.
