Mo Rocca has a piece on CBS News Sunday Morning today about birthers ... against President Chester Arthur. Sure, yeah, nice historical story that's more than a wee bit interesting. But, really, you had to pick this Sunday to start with a story that begins:
And, if he wasn't, what does that say about President . . . Chester Alan Arthur? (Who did you think I was talking about?)
Just another cheap, tacky way to keep "the question" alive for three more days. Sleazy.

(3,526 posts)...that controls both the CBS Corporation (owner of CBS) and Viacom (owner of Paramount Pictures) through supervoting shares. The chairman of National Amusements is Summer Redstone, who who holds 80% of the company, and Sumner's daughter, Shari Redstone, who owns the remaining 20%.
Here's a clue as to who Redstone probably supports in 2012....he publicly claims to be a Democratic supporter, but he endorsed Republican George W. Bush over Kerry in 2004 because he argued that Bush would be better for his company and the economy. Spoken like a true 1-percenter.

(13,877 posts)Then Sandy came and pretty much ended the presidential hoopla and their "tied" dream, so they have to get something ramped up for after election day and what better than to rile up the "faithful" with the stale and mildewed birthers yammerings.
Let's start "Taxers" ... as in Mitt AND Ann ... Investigations via UAW et al ... cough em' up.

(34,661 posts)at CBS's on air talent. They either pander to the GOP or are past aides to a GOPer. To this day,we refuse to watch CBS after the Redstone throwing Dan Rather under the bus with the help of Bob Schrieffer, whom at the time was Poppy Bush's golfing partner. Redstone only backed people who would carry water for him and him alone.
Notice the commentaries that spew for CBS,mostly right wing bent. On air quests mostly right wing or Dino's. It's about the money guys. Nothing more than INFOTAINMENT. This is another shot at the Progressive persons who criticized their moderator during the debates. After this week, nothing for the D.C. pundtocracy to do for 2 more years accept make shit up to seem important and stroke their egos.

(11,101 posts)It's fluff; a historical piece, one of those "nothing new under the sun" things. Like most people could even pick Chester Arthur's picture out of a lineup, much less know the first thing about him or his presidency. I don't see this lending credence to the crazy birthers at all.
