Will someone please explain to me how that prick Gregory has a panel made up entirely of Rethugs, one asshole in the person of Savannah Guthrie who does no have two neurons in that head of hers, and one Cory Booker, the lone Dem, who prefaces every fucking remark of his by saying "I'm not reflexively partisan, but..." Assholes like this are why we lose...it's the Eddy Rendell school of Democratic politics, to wit: "I'm sitting on top of the political heap, so fuck you and your idealism and party loyalty."
And then of course, you have Chuck Todd with his moving states around hypothesizing this and that..making the case for Romney winning, but never stating the obvious: that the President is leading in all of those states by significant numbers, and that all of a sudden, if you want to believe that that's true, the Indies are breaking for him, and that Romney is out of the news.
I can't wait for this to be over...but you know that on January the twenty-first, it all starts again.
I've got a giant headache....interestingly ,I believe that the word "headache" is the only word, (other than the trivial solution "he" ' which begins and ends with the letters h and e. I learned that in the brilliant book "Godel, Escher, Bach" by that genius Douglas Hofstadter.
More disgust coming later...we better fucking WIN is all I can say.

(46,337 posts)I saw the description on a blog, Villagers are the cocktail-party-and-lobbyist groupies, who have no clue as to what is really going on outside their little bubbles in Washington DC.
When someone trustworthy like Rachel Maddow tries to break through that bubble, (like last Sunday,) they talk over her.

(25,556 posts)Bad bunch all the way around...maybe they always were. The used to be stories in the old days about people like Hugh Sidey and others who we intimate with those whom they covered for the major news outlets, but the stories were repressed
In the MSM which is pretty much all we had, at least in the hinterlands.

(12,392 posts)at the venom and anger in David Gregory's voice when he was pounding the Benghazi thing (that no one else had brought up). It dawned on me then that he is truly pissed that Obama is going to win. At least Russert made the attempt to appear unbiased, even though he started the trend of padding his show with repubs.
Although I think Booker did very well in the first part of the show, not allowing them to lie or roll over him. I don't believe David called on him in the second part, although i may be wrong. At that point my mute button was engaged. Every time I looked up, Joe Scar's jaw was flapping. I swear, I bet he can crack walnuts with that jaw. Those muscles must be like steel, since he never shuts up!

(25,556 posts)That's why we watch morning joe, mtp, face the nation and the others.
We are self- hating self-loathing individuals who are seeking to destroy ourselves and our families.
We are the Riddler, Lex Luthor, and John Galt all rolled into one.
That is why we watch TV.

(17,340 posts)How right you are -
And as I posted on an earlier thread, we have to pay more attention to local politics all over the country.
Even in solid "red" areas we need to encourage progressive candidates to run and to call out the liars at every turn. It's not enough to just win the White House and the Senate, what we really need is to win school boards, local council seats and state houses.
Otherwise it's just the same old crap.
When we win - and we will - I'm still going to replay that Steve Earle song, Christmas Time In Washington, in my head.
Here's Earle playing in Madison in 2011.

(2,825 posts)He was on one of the talking head daytime programs a few days ago (can't remember which one), and said something to the effect, "Of course Gregory never veers from his predictable talking points".
He sounded very dismissive, kind of disgusted. I kind of did a doubletake. I agreed with him.

(2,434 posts)but found an equal number of R's and D's complaining about the show's bias. Rather humorous actually. Most of the R's could only talk Benghazi, Benghazi over and over. Guess they watch Faux Noise and MTP. Says somethin'. Hope Joe Scar enjoys his new facial hair.

I don't think anyone but the wingnuts think that the administration is trying to cover up something sinister. But it's all they've got at this point, I guess.
