The candidates are the same nonsense....

Sorry I just need to vent a bit

Salon has a Matt Stoller article and NakedCapitalism has a bunch of crap about those on the left foolishly voting for Obama because they claim "the candidates are the same." I hate this meme! It's crap. It's not true in any way. Voting for republicans today means voting to set this country back to the dark ages, voting for people so crazy they deny science and think a woman's body can just shut "that whole thing down." Today's republicans openly hate on the poor, immigrants, minorities, and women. They want to further erode civil rights and workers rights. Republican candidates have openly suggested scrapping child labor laws, doing away with the EPA and the department of education. They deny climate change and would do absolutely nothing to protect the environment or encourage our country to develop alternative fuel. Today's republicans are bigots! Dammit how can any sane self respecting person think the parties are the same? Nothing infuriates me more than a woman spewing this nonsense!

end of rant

Sorry....just brings up the painful disappointment I felt as a young girl when my aunt explained how
ERA didn't pass....

Anyone have a good response to people saying the parties are the same that doesn't include the many expletives that leap to mind?

I can understand how they are the same.. both run by corporatists, financiers, etc. But, on the micro level, you are totally right. Opposite ends of the stick. But it is still the same stick.
So lets be sure to grab the correct end of the stick. Then maybe we can snap the stick and beat the other end to oblivion. AND the corporatists, financiers, plutocrats and the Tea Party.

Just think it irresponsible to advocate taking away democratic votes in an election of such importance.

That's what kills me cause these same folks claim the most important thing is to root out corruption and fix the financial industry. If that's their main concern why go with Romney?
