Tired of the Republican Ads on here....

Why are there anti-Democratic ads here on DU? I'm really tired of seeing ads against the Democrats in my state popping up on here every time I turn around. As I type this there is one on the left hand side of this page against Democrat Richard Carmona who is running for the U.S. Senate here in Arizona.

Simple as that.

No ads, no aggravation, and - perhaps most important for the restovus - no complaints!

Personally, I'm oblivious to the ads, but if they cause consternation to the point that threads must be started in GD, then I'm just here to suggest a solution to their suffering.

Nothing in life is free. DU can't control placement of ads but I guess the poster don't know that.

If somebody were to start a thread saying how Richard Carmona is "WRONG FOR ARIZONA", the thread would be locked, and rightly so. But yet ads saying exactly that are on here. Or does DU not have any say in what ads appear?

The race for Senate here in Arizona has been very contentious. It's to fill the seat of Republican Jon Kyl and it would be great if we could have a Democratic win for that seat. Nightly there are TV ads for both Richard Carmona (D) and Jeff Flake (R). The ads run back to back and Flake is a real flake! So it just kind of irks me to come here on Democratic Underground and see the negative ad campaign being run by Flakes flakes popping up. It's not that I mind seeing ads here because I am well aware that it costs a lot of money to run a website. But I guess DU has no control of what ads wind up here so I will just grin and bear it.
