Those who voted to outlaw insults, please line-up in front of the giant dildo on a pendulum. n/t Ian David Nov 2012 #2

and I liked his reference to what Obama said. the answer is not to outlaw free speech. The answer is more speech. My father keeps trying to make the point that he is no longer free to say that he is against homosexuality. My daughter who is studying criminal justice right now points out that if that were the case it would against the law for the KKK to gather in public and say the things they say. It is legal. However, it is also legal for people who disagree with them to stand opposite them and say they are wrong. I do think sometimes in our enthusiasm we try to simply get rid of the offending speech. We cannot do that. What we must do is stand up and also speak when those who say hateful things speak. We don't have to do so in an equally hateful way. We just simply need to stand up and speak when we see an injustice.
