Not in the sense that he has the gift, that is pretty obvious, but that he takes chances to make the kind of movie he wants to make instead of what he feels his agent needs to take.

In that way, I truly admire him for his courage to make a "little" movie while taking strong political stances that could have a negative effect on his career.

I get whiny-voiced women telling me to vote for Romney. It's very annoying. I'm a registered Democrat who votes all the time and has never ever voted for a Republican (well, once, for a judicial candidate but she was endorsed by our local progressive paper) so I don't know how I ended up on Romney's lists. I get his crap in the mail all the time and Republican robo-calls that are appallingly poorly produced.

i lay down the phone and walk away. that much time they can't tie up someone else's line. and of course the mail goes straight into the trash, it never even comes into the house.

i am also a lifelong dem who has never voted for a republican and cannot imagine ever doing so.

I don't think the Karl Rove is doing much work for Romney. His campaign materials would be better if Rove were involved.

I get the repuke garbage all the time because I live in a state they, especially Bomney (he is going to bomb), are certain they own. I just tell them they've reached a democratic island in the middle of Utah. I hate the fact that Mia Love is probably heading to D.C. Repukes are so avaricious.

After I had to give them a phone number (I only offered my cellphone number long ago) I began immediatelygetting calls from the Family Research Council about abortion, etc. So they sold my number and information to those rightwing maniacs.

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/right-wing-leftovers-11212-0

I was mad as hell, but the cellphone company couldn't block it, so I set it not to ring to unknown calls, then they sent me texts I had to pay for. I had to disable texting. I don't think there is anything to do.

I'm also getting mail from the GOP Outliers lying about the Democrats. It feels like a real invasion of my personal space to get those at my home.

Sorry you're not getting a call from someone you want to hear from, maybe some of what I did will work for you.

I think it's because there are several long-time residents on my street who are extremely right-wing. (Reason I'm planning to sell and get out asap as a matter of fact.) I'm in a blue town in a swing state - they think they've found an enclave of Republicans.

But the Libertarians who were for Paul, the fundies and baggers are moving in and voting against all progressive measures. I'm really concerned that our Democratic candidate for Governor will be replace with the AG who has proven himself a bagger. It's getting ugly and dangerous. You take care, yardwork.

We have a teabag state legislature - Republican majority for the first time in more than 100 years. We'll have a teabag governor after this election. The Rethuglicans gerrymandered the whole state after they seized power in 2010, eliminating a bunch of Democratic districts - it will be very difficult for the Democrats to get power back. The state university system is under assault. The Republicans have grabbed all the power and they are drunk with it. Offshore drilling, fracking, photo id laws, assault on immigrants - the whole nine yards.

Sometime around 2020 the Democrats will get power back and re-gerrymander the state in their favor. Until then we're in for a bumpy ride. I'm planning to stick around and be a problem for the Republicans as much as I can.

Love your posts, freshwest.

Redistricted into oblivion. I'm sure Allen West thought of Brad as one of those "card carrying communists".

The teabaggers are trying to turn our wonderful state into South Carolina or Mississippi.

I'm really missing Bill Friday and Andy Griffith, who always helped deliver a Democratic Governor to us.

Why oh why didn't more Democrats vote back in 2010.
