General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe corporate media are so committed to the "Democrats aren't enthusiastic " meme that
they refuse to believe the sampling from the polls that have the President in the lead. Rather than accept what the legitimate pollsters are telling them about the likely make-up of the 2012 electorate, they keep riding the hobby horse that they have been on all year about dispirited Liberals. This has led, among other things, to the insanity of NBC unskewing its own poll.Democrats are going to turn out in huge numbers. The only question is whether their votes get counted or the hack election officials in Florida, Ohio, Iowa, etc. are successful in depriving enough supporters of the President of their sacred American right to tilt the results to the salesman.

(778 posts)it really doesn't matter if I calmly walk in to a voting booth and use it or make a fool out of myself and dress up like a faux patriot teabagger and set my hair on fire before I vote. One vote is one vote. It's still just as powerful. An "excited" vote counts no more than a "calm & rational" vote.

(46,436 posts)the Dems and Dem-leaning indies seem to be fired up this year. Internal politics (59 of 60 legislative seats are up for grabs this year because of redistricting) should guarantee high turn-out. Obama will benefit from our R governor's over-reaching. It probably won't be enough to put him over the top, but I think he'll do well.
