A year ago, virtually all the pundits said we'd lose the Senate

Thanks in large part to the tea idiots, we're almost sure to keep it. We had way, way more seats up than the repubs but the tea party madness fucked them but good. They voted out Lugar who certainly would have won. They voted in Akin who's almost guaranteed to lose.

If the President wins on Tuesday and we hold the Senate, the war in repuke party will be epic. and fun to watch.

Dems don't actually control the Senate-- a two or three seat majority means nothing

I suspect we're forgetting the blue dogs.. who may as well just joing the repug party; when if ever do they support any sort of progressive legislation?

it means that its difficult to push through an agenda. And most blue dogs- not all- have been replaced by repugs over the last few cycles. It also means that the Senate Majority Leader is a dem and that's very important. Look at who heads up Senate Committees.

Things have to get past the House first, and the House Repubs have made that almost impossible.

They sure do know how to make the entire legislature look bad with their stalling and "make Obama a one-term president" mentality (the conservatives, anyway).
