Thousands turn out in freezing weather for Obama/Springsteen in Madison
Not quite the 30,000 we turned out for him on campus on October 4, but a good sized, very enthusiastic crowd anyway. Given that the rally was just announced on Friday and it's a work day Monday I'm pleased with the response:
MADISON In the final day of campaigning before Tuesdays election, President Barack Obama traveled to Wisconsin to try to put the election away.
Appearing in a sea of people that filled the streets below a flag-draped state Capitol and backed by iconic musician Bruce Springsteen, Obama made his case for another four years.
We have come to far to turn back now, he said. We have come to far to let our hearts grow faint. Nows the time to keep pushing forward, to educate all our kids and train our workers, to create new jobs, to bring our troops home, to care for our veterans, broaden opportunity, grow our middle class, restore our democracy and make sure that no matter who you are you can make it here in America if you try.
