The line was really long way on out the door. It took awhile to stand in line, but once I got inside it moved a little faster. I think a lot of people finished at once. The conversation from a few people in line in front of me really intrigued me. I wanted to shout "RIGHT ON!" or something, but I kept my mouth shut and just listened. They were talking about Romney and how much he lies and that you just can't trust a word he said. I'm not sure if the woman was a Repub, she didn't say. I heard one of the Gentlemen say, "I can't believe I'm a Republican and about to vote for the Democrat, I just can't trust Romney." The other one then chimed in and said, "I know! I've been a Republican all my life, but I just can't vote with my Party this time. None of the people they put up this time was worth voting for. They need to go back to the drawing board"
I wanted to high five all three of them!
I'm not naive enough to think that Oklahoma will be blue, but hearing people like that gives me hope.

(41,832 posts)I know we won't be blue either, but there are a lot of wonderful people here.

(8,571 posts)I was afraid by the time I got off tomorrow with the polls closing at 7, that the lines would be too long. I didn't want to chance it, so I went to the county election board. I don't really like going downtown after dark, but I didn't want to risk it tomorrow and not having the chance to vote. I agree, there are a lot of wonderful people here. Good luck with voting tomorrow

(8,571 posts)lol I can't believe all this time you didn't know that

(297,304 posts)was too obvious mitt was lying in spite of the US media not calling him out. Until the end that is when even the VP in charge of Design at Chrysler tweeting that mitt was full of shit.
Yeah, I just figured you were in California with that handle you've got.

(8,571 posts)Some of these big lies have came out after the normal time when people start paying attention..with the debates. Then there are those out there unfortunately who just grab onto slogans, and don't really delve into the policies or issues. Voters like that make me so angry!
Sometimes I wish I were in California, or any blue state. It would make my blood pressure go down I'm sure. Then again, I do like debate and challenges. If I can change one or two peoples minds or way of thinking then it's all worth it. Being in Oklahoma is like being down in the trenches when it comes to politics

(1,983 posts)I'm also in Oklahoma voting tomorrow DH & I was going after work today but his battery went dead so we both will be there tomorrow.
SunsetDreams
(8,571 posts)Good luck with voting tomorrow. Sorry his battery went dead, if it's not one thing it's another. That's the motto around here. It seems like when one thing breaks, something else is right behind it.

(265 posts)Didn't have to wait in line as long as I did last time - me and my mom went early though. The two women behind me were talking about how Romney just can't win
SunsetDreams
(8,571 posts)lol let's hope those two women are right. I shudder to think what Romney would do to this country. Please Gawd no! I don't think this country can stand it.

(916 posts)I still get choked up remembering how it felt when NC went blue and my vote "counted". But even if we don't make it this time, my vote still counts. All of our votes count, damn it.
So you go Oklahoma! Y'all are fighting the good fight! Fired up in NC for you!
that would be so awesome if one day Oklahoma "wakes" the hell up and goes blue. I bet that did make you emotional, I know it would me. Every vote counts, and we must never forget that.

(1,983 posts)President O would carry a County this time....
SunsetDreams
(8,571 posts)but would be awesome to see. Let's hope you are right. My husband is an Independent and O has him, just like he did in 2008.

(241 posts)The symbolic stuff still matters. Besides, it's your damn right to vote for who you want.
SunsetDreams
(8,571 posts)I have never looked at my vote as symbolic. I believe that no matter where you come from, your vote counts. Your vote could be the one that makes a difference. Just like another DUer who replied talking about how it made her feel when North Carolina went blue.

(10,942 posts)a vote, but I expect that person to vote for Romney, despite concerns.

(2,783 posts)I'll be doing my part to make my formerly blue county blue once again, way out here in the boonies. Gonna be there at 7 a.m. when the doors open.
Vote, Dems, everywhere!

(53,959 posts)I also heard a few people who weren't voting party Republican (don't know if it was presidential or not). We also had a larger than expected turnout. I have a feeling, while Obama will not take this state, Romney will barely win it because so many won't vote for him. I can only imagine if this is happening in one of the reddest states of the union, it is likely happening all over the country!
